Snail Gladiators

Meet the Snails

How did these alien snail brothers find themselves living on Earth and fighting crime? The answer is actually very simple. After their planet’s destruction, they were raised by a group of vagabond snails that travel in a small fleet of ships across the galaxy, known as the Snail Gladiators. One day, when the two snails unintentionally shoot down a high profile captain from the Badenian Empire, a hefty bounty is placed on them. Fearing they are putting the other snails at risk, they leave the fleet and relocate to Cyan City on Earth, where they can safely hide from the empire. Unfortunately, many nefarious aliens have also found a home in the city, so the snails work to keep the town safe by fighting this assortment of evil-doers. Despite their efforts to remain low profile, they will soon find themselves in the middle of a quickly developing intergalactic conflict.

Who’s Who?

The snail brothers have names, but you would never know it. In this story, their monikers just don’t seem to come up. You could try asking them, but it’s been too long since you met and it would be kind of awkward to ask this late.

The Brains

Being the older of the two brothers, he feels that it is his duty to be the more responsible and respectable sibling. He is more on the methodical side, but is prone to getting frustrated with those around him. Seeing the fairly eccentric personalities of Cyan City helps reaffirm him that he is the most rational of the island’s inhabitants however. After a long day of crime fighting, he stays up late into the night typing away on a prehistoric computer. He fancies himself an unrecognized intellectual and fittingly spends this time on the computer crafting the perfect autobiography. In combat, he is less willing to play along with the theatrics of villainy. He feels fighting is beneath him, but does so out of a need to keep his new home safe. Or at least as safe as when the snails first showed up.

The Scoundrel

Easily the more immature of the two, he values very different things in life than his brother. Fighting crime is less about protecting his new home and more about having fun blowing up fire hydrants or knocking over street lamps. While his brother prefers hand to hand combat, this more chaotic snail enjoys utilizing his fighter ship and other more advanced and destructive forms of technology. In a world of blatant government and corporate corruption, he proves to be an avid conspiracy theorist, but ultimately believes all of the ones that are incorrect. In his free time, he scours the city dump with a jar and collects a brightly colored sludge that is only slightly toxic. This sludge (found leaking from the remnants of old space ships) makes for a nice dinner. The snails’ barely affordable and cramped house dictates that the living room double as his bedroom. It’s okay though, because he gets the privilege of falling asleep on the pullout couch, watching static on the TV (Cable is too expensive.)
