Villains

Snails vs Krater.png

Krater

Krater is a disgraced captain from the planet Badenia, with a fondness for super weapons. Equipped with a malfunctioning jetpack and an assortment of expensive gadgets, Krater is the most frequent foe of the snails. He wears a helmet and suit like the majority of his species, but his outfit is a bit antiquated. Before becoming the snails’ arch nemesis, Krater was a renowned war hero and was hailed as a brilliant tactician, after his exploits in the Battle of Badenia. That is, until he fell into a decadent lifestyle during his post-war celebration. As time went on and his debt climbed higher, his fellow Badenians were not only alarmed by his behavior, but began to re-evaluate his competence during the war. Upon further analysis, his tactics seemed to be more suicidal than brilliant. From what was once seen as masterful strategy, would now come to be viewed as reckless actions that only worked because their sheer stupidity rendered it impossible for the enemy to predict. Krater became a figure of near universal ridicule for putting so many lives at risk and almost compromising victory in what was an incredibly decisive battle.

Fearing for his life and rising debt, Krater is pressured to make money fast and rebuild his reputation. He turns to bounty hunting and sets off for Cyan City on Earth. It is here that he expects to find two long forgotten targets of the empire that have been presumed dead for years, but still hold a massive bounty. By exploiting national extraterrestrial laws, Krater keeps his spaceship docked in the city park. After securing his residence on the planet, he dedicates his life to destroying the snails no matter the cost, even if it adds to his debt. His mission transforms into an obsession and his schemes are always overly complicated to the point of becoming his undoing. The snails find him to be a largely incompetent nuisance, but recognize him as a threat and their most persistent enemy. Krater frequently rents out space in his ship to mercenaries, criminals, and exiles from the Badenian Empire, in exchange for their service in his missions.

Ice Cream.png

Qorr the Accumulator

Qorr is an alien monster capable of levitating and manipulating objects to forge together into a massive body. His ice cream might be multi layered, but he certainly isn’t. His species has a primal need to accumulate as much mass as possible, so he has little interest in life beyond just getting bigger. On their barren home planet, they mostly use rocks to build out a bipedal form. Here on Earth, there are far more materials to make a body out of. His favorite source of mass is the ice cream factory, which he has broken into on multiple occasions. When Qorr takes on the form of a multi-story lactose monster, he smashes his way across the city in search of more ice cream to build himself even larger. He also steals the fake decorative cone from the factory’s sign to add a little flare to his appearance. When there aren’t any objects to collect, he appears as a floating green sphere surrounded by gas. Due to his capabilities, the Snails are much more reliant on technology and gadgets when fighting him.

Vorx.jpg

Varsk

The last of his species, Varsk is the survivor of a genocide enacted by the Badenian Empire on his home planet. Over the decades, he has garnered large political and armed support amongst hundreds of species and civilizations that have been wronged by the empire. Along with aid from countless Badenian dissidents, he operates from the shadows and uses acts of terrorism to whittle away at the Badenian’s expansive military and control across the galaxy. Seen by many outside of the empire as a revolutionary with a righteous cause, his extremity for violence is not understood by most. In his quest to destroy the empire, he is willing to sacrifice as many lives as it takes. Varsk is clouded by vengeance, but justly believes the galaxy will be better off with the empire eradicated. His determination has deprived him of restraint. He never meets the snails face to face, but his actions send ripples across the galaxy that inevitably reach Earth.

Vorx Pre Accident.png

Pre-Assassination Attempt

Before resorting to extreme violence, Varsk attempted to combat the empire through more conventional methods. He amassed a large following by visiting planets not fully under Badenian control and gained support for the dissolution of many of the empire’s alliances with the outer civilizations. Fearing his growing support, the Badenian government set off a bomb at one of his rallies. The explosion left him horribly disfigured and near death. His supporters were able to salvage his skull and brain for an advanced procedure. The brain and skull were then placed in a tank of preserving liquid that sits atop a robotic body. A remote device was inserted into to his brain that allows him to fully control this new body.

Snail Doppelgangers.png

Dopp & Ganger

The snails aren’t the only vagabonds in need of a home. Dopp and Ganger have traveled the galaxy for decades, trying to assume new identities on various planets. Unable to ever properly start a life on their own, they aim to replace established members of society by taking on their identities. Using a matter altering space orb, the two are able to reshape themselves into lookalikes of their intended targets. They primarily attempt to replace the snails, because they find their living situation on Earth to be most desirable. They are far from perfect copies, but this does not stop the people of Cyan City from falling for the ruse.

The Obs-Elites

Wendy Waschtup.png

Whitney Waschtup

She is the leader of the formidable gang of rejects and defuncts, known as the Obs-Elites. Whitney once had a successful career as a model, but when her popularity started to dwindle, her agent pressured her to take more experimental routes for maintaining relevance. In a last ditch effort, she agreed to use a barely tested beauty product and was subsequently morphed into a gelatinous pink goop. Horrified by her appearance and inability to keep form, she hides within a robot sarcophagus and swears to make those who wronged her, hideous as well. Whitney’s schemes typically involve dumping chemicals over public spaces to turn the populace into the same goopy being she has become. As protectors of Cyan City, the snails work to foil these efforts.

Milk Man.png

The Milk Man

He is a man denied his life’s purpose. After generations of milk men in the family, Darien Curdle has found himself unemployed and furious. The masses may not want milk delivered anymore, but the Milk Man pledges to continue the tradition by force. Armed with a top of the line udder gun, the Milk Man blasts foes of the Obs-Elites with skim, 2%, and whole. He dreams of a utopia where every citizen has milk delivered, but Whitney always shuts down his plans in favor of her own schemes.

Aging Star new.png

Mitchell Sulkin

Jaded and disaffected, Mitchell finds it hard to progress in his life. The former child star is left emotionally numb after watching his career slowing dissolve with aging. The actor is not particularly vindictive, but he has allied himself with the Obs-Elites for reasons not entirely clear. Despite being good at following orders, Mitchell rarely pays attention to the evil schemes at play and his general apathy has allowed the snails to escape traps on numerous occasions.

Boxer.png

Spike Punch

This once famous pugilist serves as the muscle of the Obs-Elites. Years ago, Spike was forced by the boxing organization to retire, after it became evident he had taken a few too many punches to the head. Saddened by his removal, the boxer has found community in his new villain friends. While doing Whitney’s bidding, he sometimes mistakenly thinks he is in the ring again and starts punching anyone near him. He is arguably the least evil of the group and mostly just wants a sense of purpose.

Monsignor Ivnok Spaldos.png

Monsignor Ivnok Spaldos

This occult priest of indeterminate European heritage is a globe traveling collector of extraterrestrials. He believes aliens to be demonic beings and captures them to put in his underworld themed zoo. Although he himself has an unearthly appearance, Ivnok just has a rare skin condition. He’s a bit embarrassed about it. The priest finds the snails to be a particularly demonic presence and focuses much of his efforts towards their capture.
